A Coalition of Civil Society groups have called on the Department of State Security, DSS, to release its report on Senator Ifeanyi Ararume. The demand by the Coalition on Saturday came after a Federal High Court judgement in Abuja reinstating Ararume as non-executive chairman of the Nigeria National Petroleum Limited, NNPCL. The Coalition, of about 25 civil society groups, revealed that they would protest against the judgment in Abuja next week. Operating under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, CCSGGG, in a statement in Abuja, said the security report by the secret police would give a clear indication of why Ararume was dropped from the board of the NNPCL. An Abuja  Federal High Court has awarded the sum of N5 billion to a former senator that represented Okigwe Zone, Ifeanyi Ararume as damages for his removal as the Chairman of the Board of Nigeria National Petroleum Company, Ltd. Justice Inyang Ekwoe while dlivering judgment on the matter brought by the court by the  former Senator, insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari illegally removed Ararume from the position. Ararume had dragged the President to Court in November, 2022, following his removal from the board, barely few weeks after his appointment into it, and on the eve of his inauguration.  The Company is a Government- controlled Oil Company Ltd.
